Deep Pressure Stimulation (DPS): Weighted blankets leverage DPS, a therapeutic technique that uses gentle pressure to stimulate the body. The evenly distributed weight creates a sensation known as "grounding," promoting feelings of security and calmness. It provides an extra sleep foundation, it's great for sleep disorder.
Calms the Nervous System: The pressure from a weighted blanket triggers the release of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which contribute to a sense of well-being. Additionally, the gravity weighted blanket may help reduce cortisol levels, leading to a calmer nervous system. It promotes better sleep, thus reducing certain health conditions.
Improved Sleep Quality: Studies have shown that using a weighted blanket can enhance sleep quality by increasing melatonin production. Melatonin is a hormone that regulates sleep-wake cycles, promoting a more restful and rejuvenating sleep.
Alleviates Anxiety and Stress: The deep pressure (pressure therapy) provided by weighted blankets has been found to reduce anxiety and stress levels. The comforting touch helps release oxytocin, often referred to as the "love hormone," fostering a sense of security and relaxation.
Enhances Mood and Decreases Restlessness: Weighted blankets can positively impact mood by promoting the release of serotonin. The gentle pressure can also alleviate restlessness, making it an effective tool for those with conditions such as ADHD or sensory processing disorders.
Sensory Integration: For individuals with sensory processing difficulties, weighted blankets can aid in sensory integration, helping to regulate and organize sensory input. This is particularly beneficial for those on the autism spectrum.
Reduces Insomnia Symptoms: People struggling with insomnia may find relief with a weighted blanket. The calming effect on the nervous system and reduced anxiety, can mitigate insomnia symptoms, leading to improved sleep duration and efficiency.
Eases Pain and Discomfort: Weighted blankets can provide relief for individuals experiencing chronic pain conditions. The deep pressure stimulation may help alleviate pain by promoting the release of endorphins and enhancing overall comfort.
Enhances Focus and Attention: The calming effect of weighted blankets extends to improving focus and attention. This makes them beneficial for children and adults with attention disorders, promoting a more centered and focused state.
Encourages Relaxation and Mindfulness: Weighted blankets create a conducive environment for relaxation and mindfulness. By fostering a sense of security, they can aid in meditation practices and promote overall mental well-being.
Weighted blankets offer a superior alternative to a regular blanket due to their unique design and therapeutic benefits. Unlike a regular blanket, weighted blankets are crafted with an emphasis on even weight distribution. This key feature ensures that pressure is uniformly applied across the body, facilitating a consistent and calming sensation. What sets weighted blankets apart is their customization, allowing users to select a specific weight tailored to their preferences and needs. This personalized touch ensures an optimal level of deep pressure stimulation (DPS) for enhanced therapeutic effects.
Moreover, weighted blankets often incorporate therapeutic fabrics like minky or cotton, contributing to a soft and luxurious feel. The materials not only enhance comfort but also add tactile benefits that regular blankets may lack. Additionally, these blankets prioritize temperature regulation by utilizing breathable fabrics, preventing overheating during sleep and further improving the overall sleep experience.
Scientifically proven benefits distinguish weighted blankets from their regular counterparts. Numerous studies support their efficacy in improving sleep quality, reducing anxiety, and promoting overall well-being. This intentional therapeutic design makes weighted blankets a targeted solution for individuals dealing with conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders.
In essence, weighted blankets go beyond providing warmth; they are a purposeful choice for those seeking both comfort and scientifically validated health benefits in their sleep routine. The emphasis on deep pressure stimulation, customization, therapeutic fabrics, and temperature regulation sets weighted blankets apart as a holistic and mindful approach to achieving better sleep and overall mental well-being.
As the popularity of weighted blankets continues to grow, so does the scientific evidence supporting their numerous health benefits. From improving sleep quality to alleviating anxiety and stress, these blankets have become an essential tool for enhancing overall well-being. Bed sheets are an essential part of our sleep environment, providing comfort and relaxation. To ensure their longevity and continued freshness, proper maintenance and care are essential. In this article, we will share practical advice on care instructions to maintain your bed sheets, including washing instructions, stain removal techniques, and storage tips. Whether you have microfiber or other materials, these tips will help you keep your bed sheets in pristine condition.
Proper washing sheets techniques to clean your dirty sheets, your pillow and duvet cover (all bedding) can significantly extend the lifespan of your bed sheets while maintaining their softness and color vibrancy. Follow these steps when washing your bed sheets whether they are microfiber sheets, bamboo sheets, cotton bed sheets, silk sheets, linen sheets:
Read the Care Label: Before washing your bedding, check the care label on your bedding for any specific instructions or temperature recommendations.
Separate Colors: Sort your dirty sheets by color to prevent bleeding or color transfer. Wash whites, pastels, and light-colored bedsheets separately from dark-colored ones.
Choose the Right Detergent for your bedding: Use a mild, liquid detergent that is suitable for your bedding fabric. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals as they can damage the fibers. *(We recommend using detergent sheets as mentioned at the end of this article.)
Optimal Water Temperature: Follow the recommended water temperature on the care label. In general, washing bed sheets in warm water is effective for removing dirt and stains.
Gentle Cycle: Select the gentle or delicate cycle on your washing machine to minimize agitation and prevent damage to the fabric to get the perfect clean sheets.
Avoid Overloading the Machine: Allow enough space for your bed sheets to move freely during the wash cycle. Overloading the machine can result in inadequate cleaning and excessive wrinkling.
Use Less or NO Fabric Softener: While fabric softener can add a pleasant scent and softness, using too much can create a waxy residue. Consider adding half the recommended amount or omitting it altogether. **(At the end of this article, we mention why we recommend omitting softener all together.)
Precautions for Microfiber Bed Sheets: If you have microfiber bed sheets, wash them separately from lint-producing fabrics to avoid trapping lint particles.
Accidents happen, and bedding can be susceptible to stains, whether coming from body oil, food, pets, dead skin, etc. Here are some effective stain removal techniques:
Act Quickly: Treat stains as soon as possible to prevent them from setting into the fabric. Blot or gently scrape off any excess substance before applying a stain remover.
Spot Treat: For localized stains, create a paste using a mixture of water and a gentle detergent. Apply the paste to the stain, gently rub it in, and let it sit for a few minutes before laundering.
Address Specific Stains:
Proper storage helps keep your bed sheets organized and in good condition until their next use. Follow these storage tips:
Clean and Completely Dry: Ensure that your bed sheets are thoroughly clean and completely dry before storing them. Moisture can lead to mildew and musty odors.
Fold Neatly: Fold your bed sheets neatly to minimize wrinkles and creases. Consider rolling them instead of folding to further reduce

*DETERGENT SHEETS
We recommend using detergent sheets, also known as laundry sheets or laundry detergent strips because they are better for us and for the environment. Here's why:
While detergent sheets offer several benefits, it's important to consider personal preferences, specific laundry needs, and the availability of environmentally friendly options. Some individuals may prefer liquid or powder detergents for specific cleaning requirements, such as heavily soiled or stained garments. When choosing detergent sheets, look for brands that prioritize eco-friendly practices, use biodegradable or compostable materials, and minimize the use of harmful chemicals.
Remember to follow proper disposal guidelines according to local regulations, recycle packaging where possible, and make informed choices based on your laundry needs and environmental considerations.

When it comes to choosing the right bedding for your queen-sized bed, there are two different options to consider: split top queen bed sheets and split queen sheets. While these two sizes may seem similar, there are some key differences to keep in mind.
Split Top Queen Bed Sheets
Split top queen bed sheets are designed specifically for beds with an adjustable base. These sheets feature a split in the top section of the fitted sheet, allowing each side of the bed to move independently. This is ideal for couples who have different preferences when it comes to sleeping positions, as each person can adjust their side of the bed to their liking.
One of the main benefits of split top queen bed sheets is their versatility. They can be used on any adjustable base, regardless of the brand or model. Additionally, they are available in a wide variety of materials, including cotton, bamboo, and microfiber, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.
However, split top queen bed sheets can be more expensive than traditional sheets, as they require more material and construction. Additionally, they may not fit as snugly on a non-adjustable bed, which can lead to wrinkles and discomfort.
Split Queen Sheets
Split queen sheets, on the other hand, are designed for traditional queen-sized beds that have been split into two separate mattresses. This is often done to accommodate couples who have different sleep preferences, as each person can choose their own mattress firmness and support.
Split queen sheets come in two separate pieces: a fitted sheet for each mattress and a single flat sheet that covers both mattresses. This can be convenient for couples who want the freedom to move around without disturbing their partner.
One of the main benefits of split queen sheets is their affordability. They are typically less expensive than split top queen sheets, as they require less material and construction. Additionally, they can be used on any traditional queen-sized bed, regardless of whether it has been split into two mattresses.
However, split queen sheets may not be as convenient for couples who have an adjustable bed base, as they are not designed to accommodate this feature. Additionally, the single flat sheet may not fit as neatly over both mattresses, which can lead to discomfort and wrinkles.
Conclusion
In the end, the choice between split top queen bed sheets and split queen sheets depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you have an adjustable bed base and want the flexibility to adjust each side of the bed independently, split top queen bed sheets may be the better choice. However, if you have a traditional queen-sized bed that has been split into two mattresses, split queen sheets may be more affordable and convenient.

1. Supported Bridge Pose
How-to:
Lie down on your back with your knees up and feet flat on the bed. Lift your hips up and slide a pillow underneath your hips, you want to have a thin pillow (no more than 1-2 inches high) so your back isn’t arched or strained. Note that the pillow should be under your tailbone. The topmost edge of the pillow should not go past the top of your butt and there should be space underneath your lower back.
Stay in this position for 5 minutes (or longer if needed)
Benefits:
This pose releases your psoas or hip flexor muscles (muscles that connect your middle spine to your thigh). It’s especially useful if you sit at a desk all day long. Hip flexors can get really tight and cause quite a bit of back pain. This is also a mild inversion which allows blood to flow to your brain and heart.
2. Restorative Twist Pose
How-to:
Do one side at a time, start with the right side.
Bring your legs to your left side. Bring your right hip to the middle of the pillow, with the pillow longways in front of you. Your legs staggered to the side, turn your torso towards the pillow and lie down. Make sure your neck is facing the same direction as your knees.
Stay 2 ½ minutes on this side. Then switch to the other side.
Benefits:
This pose calms the nervous system, refreshes the organs and brings the energy down in the body. It improves vertebral joint flexibility, digestion, and circulation.
3. Restorative Pigeon Pose
How-to:
Do one leg at a time, start with the right side.
Bring your knee out in a diagonal position to the side of your stomach and place your foot underneath your groin. The left leg goes out towards the back. Shift your hips back into a comfortable position and lie your torso down onto the pillow.
Stay in this position for 2 ½ minutes. Then switch to the other side.
Benefits:
This is a great position because we hold a lot of tension in our hips. Our side glutes (gluteus medius) get very tight and weak. This pose opens your side glute muscles and lengthens our hip flexors. It also stimulates our internal organs. And it releases stress, trauma, fear and anxiety in the hips. It’s a powerful pose!
4. Reclined Bound Angle Pose
How-to:
Lay the pillow lengthwise at the bottom of your back. Lie back (your whole spine should be supported by the pillow). Place your knees up towards the sky with your feet together. Let your knees gently drop to the sides like a butterfly. Place additional pillows underneath your knees if you need extra support. Place your palms facing up and just relax!
Stay in this position for 5 minutes.
Benefits:
This pose is considered one of the ultimate relaxation poses in yoga. It’s a great way to open up your heart, because your chest is facing the sky. Your pecs get to release because they are dropping the opposite way than our regular hunched posture. Your palms facing up increases receptivity and opens you to abundance. You will love this pose!
5. Relaxation Pose
How-to:
This final position prepares you for sleep. Place the pillow underneath your knees. Lie there and relax. You can also do a quick breathing and visualization exercise. Christina recommends doing the following:
Imagine all your stress is up in your head and your upper chest, causing your breathing to be short and shallow. Take a deep inhale through the nose, hold it for a few seconds at the top and exhale all the air out through the mouth. Imagine that all that stress and anxiety drops down to your lower belly as you exhale. Doing this is very grounding and makes the stress feel more manageable. You can imagine that your belly is filled with soft absorbent foam that soaks up all the stress on your exhale. You can take it a step further by taking another deep inhale and exhale, this time imagine that you release all the stress from your belly out of your body, out of your hips, legs, feet, and into the earth.
Stay in this position for 5 minutes (or longer if you wish).
Voila, you did it! You finished your 30-minute bedtime yoga sequence for optimal sleep. And now, you restorative sleep awaits.
Wishing you a wonderful night

With the effects of global climate change on the rise, now more than ever, our planet needs our support. While going green may seem like a big undertaking, implementing sustainable practices isn’t difficult. Small, daily changes can make a meaningful impact in creating a healthy future for the next generations. Here are seven simple things you can do to live a more eco-conscious life.
Plastic consumption and pollution has become a massive, global epidemic.
According to the Center for Biological Diversity, "Americans use 100 billion plastic bags a year, which require 12 million barrels of oil to manufacture. It only takes about 14 plastic bags for the equivalent of the gas required to drive one mile. The average American family takes home almost 1,500 plastic shopping bags a year."
According to The World Counts, "this year 5 trillion plastic bags will be consumed. That’s 160,000 a second! Put one after another they would go around the world 7 times every hour and cover an area twice the size of France."
Those statistics refer to plastic bags only! There are also many other plastic products such as water bottles, straws, and food containers that are heavily used every single day.
We must do better!!! To reduce the environmental consequences of plastic, there are little things each of us can do! Switch to refillable water bottles, store leftovers in glass containers, bring reusable tote bags to the grocery store.
The home and lifestyle products you purchase can also lead to vast environmental damage. The fashion industry, for example, is the second-largest polluter in the globe using 1.5 trillion liters of water every year. So it’s important to be a conscious consumer and be mindful of what materials are used to create the items you buy and how they’re packaged, too.
The production of paper pollutes the air with greenhouse gases and releases inorganic materials into the water. Paper also makes up about 26% of discarded waste in disposal areas. To help correct this issue, go digital whenever possible. Some stores will email your receipts if you ask. You can sign up for paperless billing for monthly payments. You can even use e-tickets for things like movies, theme parks, and other events.
Disposable, single-use products such as paper plates, razors, sandwich bags, and coffee cups are not great for Mother Earth as they are only used once and then end up in landfills. Instead, bring your reusable coffee mug to the coffee shop, drink out of a stainless steel straw, and use your cutlery to eat takeout instead of using the plastic versions restaurants provide.
The importance of recycling is not news, but the reality is many people don’t do it and things such as paper, plastic, batteries, and electronics are not given the opportunity at a second life. Before merely throwing something away, search online to see if there are places in your area where you can drop off your recyclables or responsibly dispose of things.
The energy you use in your home also leaves an environmental footprint. Thankfully, there are easy things you can do to reduce the amount of energy you use. Start by turning off lights and appliances when they’re not in use. Dim your lights. Purchase energy-efficient appliances. Open up the windows instead of turning on the air conditioner. Use cold water to wash your clothes. Not only are these changes good for the planet, but they’ll also help lower your monthly energy bill.
Transporting food from one place to another requires a tremendous amount of energy and resources. Furthermore, growing produce that’s out of season also impacts the ecosystem. Rather than going to the grocery store, visit your local farmers market to shop for fresh produce and fruits that are in season. You’ll nourish your body with healthy food and support the local economy.

There is a lot of confusion around Split King and Split Top King sheet set sizes. People mistakenly believe that there is no difference, and end up buying the wrong sheets. This misconception is mainly because both sizes share the same dimensions as a standard king (76 in x 80 in). However, the length of the split on the mattress is what completely sets them apart.
A Split King mattress consists of 2 Twin XL mattresses. A Split Top King mattress is a regular king with its head split by 34-36".
A split king mattress is completely split down the middle. It is made up of 2 Twin XL mattresses pushed together, forming a standard king-sized bed.
A Split King Sheet Set consists of 2 Twin XL fitted sheets, 1 flat sheet, and 2 pillowcases.
Any couple who has ever tried to buy a mattress together knows how difficult it is to choose one that fits both sleeping preferences. Someone usually ends up with neck and or back pain, which makes separate mattresses an ideal choice. This is also a cheaper alternative to getting a king bed with an adjustable mattress.
*This gives couples the ability to separately customize the incline and tilt level of the head and footer.
Split top king mattresses have a top split. This means that the upper portion of the mattress is split and the lower portion is connected.
They can come in 3 sizes: Split Top King, Split Top California King, and Split Top Queen.
This mattress size is fairly new. However, it is starting to get popular with couples that have different sleep preferences and still want the feeling of “togetherness.”
Split Top King Mattress Dimensions: 76 x 80 inches
Top Split Length: 34-36 inch
A split top king sheet set consists of 1 split top king fitted sheet, 1 flat sheet, and 2 pillowcases and you can purchase them here.
Depending on the brand, you might come across these alternative names, but they are exactly the same size:
A split top king (or flex top king) mattress comes with a motorized adjustable bed frame. This frame makes it easy to customize the incline of the upper left or right side of the mattress. Each side can rise individually while air chambers are used to customize the firmness.
Unlike a split king, an adjustable frame is not optional. Without the motorized frame, there is no point in getting a split top king because it defeats the purpose of its main feature: the top split.
*Affordable split top king sheets are hard to find. Sheets from Sleep Number are $200+, but you can find alternative sheets for $69.95-$89.95 right here.
One of the most common problems is agreeing on a mattress. One person almost always ends up with neck and or back pain while the other sleeps perfectly well.
If this is you and your partner and you both can’t agree on a mattress because of firmness levels, then the best solution is to get a bed with split mattresses or an adjustable bed. In this case, either size would work.
If price is an issue, a split king bed is a perfect choice. You can purchase a king-sized frame with a supporting baseboard and go on the hunt for 2 twin xl mattresses (that are the same level of thickness).
If you have more room in your budget or you need inclination support for a better sleep, then a split king or split top king mattress would suit your needs.
Before buying any mattress, you have to make sure there is enough space in your room. The ideal room space for a split king and split top king mattress is the same as a king, at least 10 feet by 12 feet with a recommendation of 13 feet by 13 feet.
These measurements factor in space for two nightstands and a dresser. Anything smaller can lead to an overly cramped room with little walking space.
A split king mattress is much easier to find. All you need is a king sized frame and 2 twin xl mattresses.
If you want an adjustable split king mattress, here are a few well known companies:

You can purchase a split top king size mattress from one of the following companies:
Currently, these are the only three well-known companies that produce this kind of mattress.
Split top king sheets are hard to find. Sleep number sells theirs at an expensive price. However, now that the mattress size is gaining popularity for adjustable base, there are some bedding companies that have started producing this size. You can find some of the most affordable split top king sheets here.
If you are looking for the most luxuriously affordable split top king sheet set, Westlake Home is your best bet.
Their sheets are Italian-made, OKEO-TEX certified organic. The only downside is that they get out of stock pretty quickly.
Aside from them, you will have to purchase directly from the company that sold you your mattress because this size of bedding is difficult to find.

I'm sure you notice that when you go to bed later than usual and get less sleep, your sleep quality is affected and you don't feel as refreshed the next morning. That's because our internal clock is a sucker for routine. One bad night can affect us in more ways than we think. Lack of sleep messes with our mood, stress level, concentration, and energy.
Go to bed around the same time every night, and do your best to get between 7 to 9 hours of sleep. This guarantees better sleep, and you will feel more energized within a few days.
Having a bedtime ritual can help sleep better. Find one that works for you, and try doing the same thing every night. Your body will assimilate the routine with sleep time, and help condition you for sleep. It took me a while to perfect my routine, but now it's like second nature, and I get healthy and restful sleep.
My personal routine: Around 9:30pm, I put my electronics away, dim the lights, check the temperature of my bedroom - I usually set it at 67 degrees F. Then I make myself an herbal tea, with valerian root, lemon balm and chamomile. And I read a book for the next 30 minutes on my living room couch. When I start to feel sleepy, I brush my teeth and hop into bed. For my final relaxation technique before sleep, I lay down and practice a deep breathing technique. I take a deep inhale while counting to 4. I hold my breath for 7 counts, and I exhale for 8 counts (I explain this in more detail later in the article). I repeat this exercise until my body is in full relaxation mode. This routine helps promote a good night's sleep.
Your phone may be your best friend but it can affect your quality sleep. Screens emit blue light which is known to inhibit melatonin production, making sleep difficult. You can also set your phone & laptop to automatic night shift so that the colors of your display automatically adjust at night time to make it easier on the eyes.
Aromatherapy, the use of essential oils to promote wellness and relaxation, can lead you closer to restful sleep. I personally love it! My favorite oils are lavender (relaxes and soothes anxiety), chamomile (soothes pain and anxiety), bergamot (soothes stress and anxiety, improves mood), valerian (improves sleep, relaxation, relieves tension), and jasmine (calms the nerves, soothes anxiety).
This is my favorite breathing exercise for a more healthy sleep! It's part of my bedtime routine. This technique originally comes from an ancient yogic technique (pranayama), but it was developed by Dr. Andrew Weil in the Western World. It is designed to help your body get into a state of deep relaxation, and conditions you for deep sleep. In general, breathing techniques that involve holding your breath, replenish your body with much-needed oxygen. They also help you lower anxiety as well as relax your body and mind.
Before you start, get into a comfortable sitting position, or lay down on your back (make sure your body is aligned).
In the US, 50 to 70 million Americans report having sleep-related problems. This is most often due to anxiety, which results in poor sleep. And what are people anxious about? All sorts of things: projects at work with a tight deadline, laundry piling up all over the house, birthdays to plan, medicine to pick up, groceries shopping, kids’ homework, and the list goes on and on. We seem to be constantly running behind and never have enough time to accomplish everything.
There are tons of things you can journal about that can help relieve anxiety, like writing down what you’re grateful for, or a few things that made you smile during the day, venting so it doesn’t get stuck in your mind, etc. But our personal favorite is to write down a to-do list. Studies show that writing a to-do list helps more than reflecting on other things. Once you write down what you need to do on paper, you unburden your mind so you can go to sleep in peace.
Meditation is a great exercise to help your mind calm down, relax, and reduce anxiety. There are hundreds of meditations to choose from. If you are new to meditation, a guided meditation might be the right thing for you. You can find good guided meditations through apps such as Headspace, Insight Timer, and Calm.
But you can also do your own meditation. One fun exercise is the body scan technique. Lie down on your back, and make sure your body is aligned. Close your eyes, focus your attention on the third eye (between your brows), and take a few long and deep breaths, focusing your attention on your nostrils. Then, start breathing normally again, and start scanning your body, from head to toe. Start with the top of your scalp, and go down slowly. Then move on to the top of your face and go down: forehead, brown, eyes, cheeks, nose, lips, chin. Then move down to your neck, back then front. Then onto your arms, one at a time, start with the right, all the way to your fingers, and then the left. Then go down your spine, once you reach the bottom, move onto your chest, stomach, belly. Then, onto your legs, one at a time, all the way to your toes. And start again. Do this exercise a few times. Notice how your body relaxes and the tension dissipates. Your mind and body will start to relax more and more, and it will ease you into a deep, restful sleep.
Caffeine is great to stimulate your brain throughout the day and help you feel energized. Caffeine blocks adenosine receptors in the brain. (Adenosine is a sleep-promoting chemical that is produced in the brain when you are awake). You can feel the effects of caffeine as soon as 15 minutes; it peaks between 30-60 minutes, and it stays at that level for up to 6 hours. At that point, it drops by half, and you might not feel the effects anymore. But caffeine usually stays in the body for up to 10 hours total! Research shows that caffeine messes with the circadian rhythm, delaying your internal clock, thus reducing your total sleep cycle time.
So you should stop drinking caffeine at least 6 hours before bedtime. If you go to sleep at 11pm, you should stop drinking coffee by 5pm.
Over time, overuse of caffeine intake can lead to chronic insomnia, and may increase anxiety, sleepiness and affect the quality of your sleep. Opt for herbal tea instead to help you fall asleep faster!
Something that is often neglected is our bedding, meaning mattress, sheets, comforters, and pillows. If you have an uncomfortable mattress, it will lead to bad sleep and poor posture. A pillow that is too big or stiff can push your head forward, straining your neck and making it harder to breathe. This can lead to neck and back pain, reducing the quality of your sleep. Sheets that are too stiff, make you itch, keep you cold, etc. can also affect the quality of your sleep.
My recommendation, if you sleep with a partner, is to try an adjustable bed! Partners can often come in the way of our sleep quality. How often does your partner's tossing and turning affect your sleep? It's a perfect compromise when you want to share your bed with your partner but don't want to be affected by their constant movement. It changed everything for me and my partner!
With an adjustable bed, you'll want the perfect sheets! Overstocksheetclub.com is one of the few companies that offer Split Top King Sheet Sets (Flex Top King, Split Head King) and Split Top Queen (Split Queen Flex, Split Head Queen) sheets. The quality of our sheets is unmatched! They are silky soft to the touch, they are also hypoallergenic, so they're great for people with sensitive skin! No more itching and scratching! They have deep pockets and a strong elastic so your fitted sheet never comes off your mattress, no matter how much you toss and turn! These sheets really promote good sleep!
[ad]
Research shows that wearing an eye mask can increase REM sleep time, which promotes healthy sleep patterns and hormone balance. Wearing an eye mask can especially help if you have insomnia, don't have blackout curtains, or if you sleep with a partner who turns the lights off later than you do ;)
Voila!
I hope you enjoyed reading about all the ways on how to fall asleep fast, and that trying at least a few of these will help you get better sleep! Getting good sleep can really change our life!

The bed sheets you sleep on every night should be as comfortable as possible, which is why it’s important to find the perfect fabric. But there are SO many fabrics out there! It’s easy to mess up and end up with the wrong ones. Some people sleep warm, others sleep cold. Some prefer crisp, while others like a softer feel. And then there's the sensitive skin issue that creates irritation and rashes. Don't worry, we got you! We're here to make your life easier and we're about to explain why microfiber bed sheets are awesome!
Did you know that good quality microfiber bedding is literally THE softest out there!?! Microfiber is softer than cotton sheets, sateen sheets, percale, you name it! Microfiber bed sheets are made of very thin fibers woven together to create a silky, smooth fabric. These sheets are meant to enhance your sleeping experience by its softness, which makes you feel cozy and cuddled all night. And just like cotton, the higher the thread count, the better the quality! Our bed sheets are made of the finest quality, 1800 thread counts, for a perfect balance of breathability, softness and durability. Our sheet sets come with a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. Our fitted sheet has deep pockets, fit on most mattresses such as Sleep Number mattresses, and the elastic is has a great grip to ensure it stays securely on your mattress. Once you try the softness of our bedding, we guarantee you will not want to sleep in anything else.
Bed sheets accumulate millions of dust mites and bacteria. Why? Because they feed off dead skin, and let’s face it, our beds are a real feast for them! Yeah, I know, gross! And those little suckers are the ones that irritate your skin, and aggravate your allergies. But the great news is, there is an easy fix, get microfiber sheets! They are hypoallergenic, because they are made of materials that are naturally resistant to dust mites and discourage the growth of allergens.
Also, washing your bed sheets frequently helps prevent bacteria and dust mites. And microfiber bed sheets are a lot easier to wash than any other fabric, such as cotton, linen, bamboo, etc. so it’s a win win! You can wash your microfiber sheets at warm or hot temperatures without damaging them, which I personally love. I would recommend a mild detergent though. Such as Seventh Generation, Method or Meyer's, all great options. Another tip is NOT to add softener. Your microfiber bed sheets are soft enough, and the softener could ruin the fabric. And for people with sensitive skin, softeners actually worsen your allergies, trust me, I’ve tried!
Microfiber bed sheets are more stain resistant than any other fabric! The tightly woven material creates a shield against penetrating liquids and repels stains because liquids cannot breach the tight confines between the threads of material. This results in a highly durable and stain resistant fabric that needs little to no stain removal upon washing.
For those of you who are like me - hate wrinkles but hate ironing even more - microfiber sheets might just be the solution for you. This material is wrinkle resistant so no need to worry about spending hours ironing; they come out of the dryer looking fabulous! Less time ironing means more time for what matters most - my family!
Voila, sweet dreams everyone!
Do you have trouble sleeping? Are you spending too much time tossing and turning in bed, not getting enough sleep, or waking up feeling exhausted?
You may need an adjustable bed. Sleeping on an adjustable bed has many benefits for your health! If you are looking for a way to improve your overall quality of life by sleeping more soundly every night then keep on reading, here are 5 reasons why you should invest in an adjustable bed today!
[ad]It's no secret that back pain is one of the most common reasons people go to see a doctor, but did you know that this problem affects adults across all age groups? For example, according to the American Chiropractic Association: Up to 80% of people will experience some kind of back pain during their lifetime. This condition accounts for more than 264 million lost workdays per year in America alone! Low-back pain costs Americans at least $50 billion in health care costs each year, and an estimated 70% cause disability or serious discomfort.
With an adjustable bed, you spread out the weight of your body more evenly, thus reducing pressure on the back. We recommend elevating your feet slightly to decompress and relax the lower spine area. We'll develop further in the article.
My partner wakes me up in the middle of the night all the time! And just when I’m about to fall back asleep, BOOM - there goes his obnoxious snoring again. 45% of adults are occasional snorers, and 25% regularly experience this phenomenon. And guess what, their partners usually have to suffer the consequences.
All jokes aside, snoring is often the sign of a condition called obstructive sleep apnea, which raises the risk for diabetes, obesity, hypertension, stroke, heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
Did you know that by raising your head just by 6%, you can help reduce or even stop snoring all together? This is another great reason to get an adjustable bed! (Your partner will thank you and might even love you more ;))
Do you ever feel like your legs are heavy? Do you wake up with numb, tingly feet? These are signs that you are not getting enough circulation in your blood. You might not realize, but poor blood circulation can have a grave impact on your health. Once again, elevating your legs while sleeping will help more of those precious red cells flow to where they're needed most in order for you to wake feeling refreshed and ready for whatever life throws at you tomorrow.
GERD is pretty common. In fact, it’s one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders. And about 20% of adults suffer from it in the US. Studies show that elevating your bed between 6 to 9 inches decreases reflux symptoms, as gravity helps keep stomach acid from going back up to the esophagus. Pretty cool, right!?! Make sure your entire torso is elevated, not just your head, because the intersection between the stomach and esophagus is located approximately at the lower part of your shoulder blades.
Posture is something we constantly think about when sitting at a desk, walking, doing yoga, and exercising. But most of us don’t really think about it when it comes to sleeping. Sleeping in a healthy posture at night is crucial to our health; it helps reduce the chance of discomfort and pain, which interrupt deep, restful sleep. The better you sleep, the better you feel when you’re awake, and the more energy you have throughout the day!
Sleeping in zero gravity position has been proved to be the best. It distributes your weight evenly and keeps the spine neutral to release all tension. Lift your body at a 120-degree angle with your thighs. You want to make sure your knees are slightly bent above your heart level. Amerisleep makes adjustable bed bases that have a zero-gravity setting. That way, all you have to do is press the button, relax and let the bed do the work for you!
Get our soft and hypoallergenic sheet sets on top of all of that, and you’ll be golden! Our sheets come in all colors and sizes. We pride ourselves on the quality, softness and durability of our products. Our most popular sizes are Queen, King, Cal King, Split King, Split Cal King, Split Top King, Split Head King, and Flex Top King. ]]>Oftentimes a mattress cover is one thing that many people forget to purchase for their new mattress set.
However, a mattress cover can be one of the most important parts of a bedding purchase. Check out the following reasons why every bed in your home should have a mattress cover:
Protect Your Investment
A mattress is an expensive purchase that can be quite an investment. Mattress shopping can take a long time and it can be hard to agree on the perfect mattress if you have to share with a partner.
Purchasing a mattress cover, which goes on the mattress before your affordable sheet set from The Bed Sheet Club, helps to protect your mattress from unsightly stains. It also helps to protect normal wear and tear of your mattress and can increase the chance that you can use your mattress for a longer period of time.
Protect Yourself from Bugs
A mattress cover that encases the entire mattress can help to reduce allergens like dust mites and bed bugs that may be lurking in a mattress. Dust mites and bed bugs can live in the lining of a mattress which can raise the risk of allergies.
Sleeping on a bed with a mattress cover helps to filter the allergens that dust mites and bed bugs produce that can irritate the lining of the lungs. Putting a fully incased mattress cover, that zips around your entire mattress, gives an extra level of protection during use.
Protect Yourself from Allergens
Adding a waterproof mattress cover to a bed can help to protect against mold that can grow inside a mattress. Without a cover, a mattress absorbs the regular oils and perspiration that sleepers produce during the night. It may not seem like a lot, but over time this moisture can get caught within the confines of the mattress.
A mattress is composed of fabric, wood, and metal that can easily harbor moisture. This moisture then thrives in the warm environment due to normal body heat which can grow to become mold.
Protecting your mattress from absorbing moisture is key to protecting yourself from the unhealthy effects of breathing mold spores. If a sleeper suffers from asthma or is especially sensitive to allergens, a mattress cover can greatly help them in providing a filter of protection during sleep.
Protect Your Child’s Mattress
Mattress covers are a must have for any child’s bed. Waterproof mattress covers can be purchased that will protect the mattress from nighttime accidents or bed wetting.
Mattress covers also help guard against stains that a sick child can produce who may be experiencing the flu.
Having a mattress cover on a child’s bed is an investment that any parent will rely on to keep their child’s mattress stain free. Otherwise, parents would have difficulty cleaning or may need to replace a mattress many times throughout their child’s upbringing.
A mattress cover will keep your mattress free of unsightly stains and, in turn, can also protect sleepers from bugs and allergens that could be caught in the mattress itself.
Adding a mattress cover in addition to your new quality sheet set from The Bed Sheet Club is an easy way to add protection for a perfect night of sleep.

A headboard is one of the first things that you will notice when you walk into a bedroom. With many styles and materials to choose from, it can be hard to know what will look perfect in the overall look of your room. Follow these tips on how to choose the right headboard for you:
Consider Focus
A headboard is a great way to add interest to a bedroom. Choose a fabric that is slightly rippled or has other texture to it. Tufted headboards with fabric covered buttons are a great way to provide accents to a bedroom. Incorporating metal nails or ribbon laced edges can also provide interest to a headboard and compliment the overall style of a bedroom. The color of your headboard is another way to spark depth and interest in a room’s overall look. Choose a darker color if you want your headboard to be a main focal point and lighter colors if you want a more subdued look.
Consider Function
Do you want to add a headboard that will just look pretty? Or do you want a headboard that will serve a few different purposes? Knowing your goal in purchasing a headboard is important in choosing the correct one that will best fit your room. Many people use a headboard as a back rest to either read or watch TV in bed. In this case, choose a headboard that will be the most comfortable to sit against. If you like the overall look of wood, but just need something to prop your pillows up with, consider choosing a sleigh bed that will look pretty and will be sturdy enough to keep pillows in place.
Consider Size
Your headboard has to match the size of your bed to achieve an overall pleasing look. If you have a king size bed you will need a rather large king sized headboard. If you have a smaller bed you can get away with a smaller sized headboard. Remember to factor proportion into your choice as well: wider beds will need to have a taller headboard to look right. Also consider the size of your room and the overall feel that a large headboard will create. Choose a larger headboard if you have a big enough room but if your room is already tight on space consider choosing a basic headboard that won’t overcrowd the room even more.
Consider Style
Your headboard should complement, rather than compete with, your current bedroom style. If you have a room that is very feminine with a lot of light fabrics and pretty chandeliers, you will need a headboard that reflects that style as well. Choose curvy shapes to tie in that feminine look to your headboard. If your room is more modern, consider choosing a headboard with clean lines and a definite shape that will tie into the minimalistic feel of your room. Recognize your room style before you choose a headboard in order to create a cohesive look overall.
Consider Creativity
If you are more of a DIY person, consider building your own headboard using inspiration from other crafters. This will allow you to make it your own and can add emphasis and style to the headboard that will reflect your own personality. If you want a place of focus in your room, but don’t necessarily want a piece of heavy furniture, consider adding a long picture or accents to your wall where a headboard would normally go. This will create interest and is a budget friendly way to complete the look of your room.
Choosing the right headboard for any bedroom can be a difficult task. If you already love the look of your room, consider your current style to pick a headboard that will seamlessly match what you already have. If you want to upgrade your entire bedroom, choosing a headboard that you absolutely love can help provide clarity and be a great starting point to incorporate other changes. Keep these tips in mind when choosing a new headboard to complete the overall look of a bedroom.

The color of your bedding and curtains will be the first thing that you see when you walk into the bedroom. You may not consciously notice it, but your brain will subconsciously decide whether these colors fit together well.
If you already have bedding that is a neutral tone, consider purchasing curtains that stay within the neutral zone. Colors such as beige, tan, cream, or white would easily compliment a muted bedding color.
If your bedding is bold and colorful consider choosing a curtain color that will compliment what you already have in your bedroom. Usually adding more color on top of existing color may overload the look of the room.
Consider choosing a toned down color like a dark grey or blue to compliment your existing bedding. Another great option would be a neutral curtain like a cream or beige that has a small amount of color that matches your current bed set.
Consider the Texture
Curtain fabrics come in many different styles and textures. Although you probably won’t be feeling your curtains very much, the visual texture of the fabric can convey a lot. If your bedding is soft and comfortable looking, consider purchasing curtains that are also soft and comfortable to complete the overall look.
Such things like silk, lace, or sheer fabrics can convey this more delicate appearance. If your bedding includes gathering with buttons, ruffles, or quilting consider choosing a curtain fabric that reflects this kind of style. Roman shades are a good fit for more textured bedding as they fold neatly but also give a polished textured look.
Consider the Function
Do you want to update old curtains or do you need an entirely new kind of curtain style? If you need an update choose a curtain that is a different fabric but the same kind of style that you already love. If there is too much light in your room, consider purchasing black out curtains that will keep the room dark during early morning hours.
Many curtain styles offer blackout lining so that you can still have a nice looking curtain but also retain the blackout function on the backside of the curtain. If you are happy with your light exposure and just want a curtain to add style and interest to your bedroom, consider adding an easy valance or a few panels of fabric that will outline a window and will never be meant to close.
There are many curtain styles and options that you can easily add to match your existing bedding. Many online websites will send out free samples of fabric so that you can see how the fabric would look in your home. Make sure to follow these 3 steps in choosing the perfect curtain that will compliment your existing bedding set.
]]>Busy homes contain the hustle and bustle of daily life. Multiple family members and multiple schedules can make a home feel overwhelmed and overcrowded. Making your bedroom into a private oasis can help to ease the stress of a busy life. Follow these easy steps to creating a private getaway in your very own home:
Choose Soothing Colors
Different colors have been proven to either stimulate or soothe the mind. Make your bedroom a place of peace by painting the walls in a cool color like blue or grey.
Choosing a cooler color will automatically convey to your mind that it is time to calm down when you enter the room. If you already like your wall color, consider adding some pops of a cool color in accent pillows, a covered chair, or wall décor.
Think About Placement
When you walk into your bedroom do you automatically feel at ease? Are you happy with where the bed or dresser is located? Or do you always find yourself tripping over something that isn’t quite working where it is currently at?
Examine the main walls and areas of your room and consider moving some pieces around to a different location.
Keep walkways clear to make it easy for you to get to every corner of your room. If you have large furniture in a smaller bedroom, consider downsizing to pieces that will create more open areas and fit better in your room.
Add Some Lighting
Many home décor professionals believe that each room needs 5-8 different lighting sources. This can be overwhelming but having that many different lights can really affect the overall feel of a bedroom. Add nightstand lamps to create softer light before bedtime or consider purchasing a tall lamp next to a favorite reading chair. Dimmable lights are also a good option in order to tone down bright light and create a soft and dreamy atmosphere.
Create a Sitting Area
Creating a private oasis in your bedroom needs to have some kind of other seating options than just the bed. You will be more likely to use your room as a getaway if you have a comfortable chair that you can sink into at the end of a long day.
This extra seating will also entice you to take a break from the busy household to rest and recharge. Even if your room is small, you can still get a smaller chair or two to fit in an unused corner to create a cozy reading nook.
Choose Accents You Love
Is there something that you have found on Pinterest that speaks to you? Does your room include accents that you absolutely love? If not, consider doing some redecorating by placing items in your room that bring you joy. Assess every picture or decoration in your room to see if you really love it or if it was placed there just to fill the space.
Your bedroom oasis should not be over cluttered but tastefully hint at things that make you happy. Be choosy about your new decorations and remember that the less amount of stuff in the room will make the room feel more open and peaceful.
Following these 5 steps to creating a bedroom oasis in a busy household will help you feel more at peace at the end of a long day. Make your bedroom reflect your own style and make sure it includes things that entice relaxation. Remember that less is more in finding the perfect balance to creating a peaceful bedroom in a busy home.
]]>Depending on your household size and usage, it can be hard to determine how many towels would be ideal for your household needs. Follow these easy steps to figure out how many towels you will need for your home:
Family Size
The number of people living under your roof directly correlates to the number of bath towels that you will need. People usually use one new towel every few days. If you have kids or pets, you will need more bath towels to have one hand for other messes and spills in the bathroom. A good number of bath towels are 3-4 per person.
Consider getting a different shade of color for each person in your household. This will help eliminate confusion in regards to which towel belongs to which family member. It can also help to eliminate a child who likes to use more than their fair share of towels. Having a separate color for each family member makes it easy to instantly identify what bathroom the towel should be in as well.
Daily Habits
Washcloths are common to have but does your family actually use them? If you don’t normally use a washcloth in your daily routine than you won’t need many for your household. Consider purchasing a few washcloths for your home and having some on hand for guests when they arrive.
Number of Sinks
The amount of hand towels that you have will tie into how many sinks you have in your home. If you have multiple bathrooms, you will be using hand towels more often. A good rule of thumb is to have two hand towels per person in your home. These can be spread out throughout the house at the different sink locations though. Hand towels will get used frequently so having extras available is always a good idea. Also know that this does not include dish towels in the kitchen area as many of those are needed depending on your cooking style.
Extra Towels
It is common for households to have towels that won’t be used in a bathroom. You won’t want to use a plush bath towel at the pool or beach so having a separate stash of these towels can be very useful. Also, make sure to recycle towels that can be used for other things. A bath towel that is faded or torn will not do in a bathroom but would be great to use in the garage or for drying off a wet dog. Worn bath towels can also be stored under the bathroom sink in case of an overflowed toilet or drain. Making these extra towels easily accessible will help extend the quality of your bath towels that you use every day.
Consider the daily needs of your household when purchasing new towels from The Bed Sheet Club. Also don’t forget to purchase extra towels if you host out of town guests. Knowing your family’s needs and daily habits is key to having the right amount of towels on hand.

As with any fabric, microfiber has both advantages and disadvantages depending on the opinion of those who use it. Learn about both positive and negative aspects of purchasing microfiber fabric below:
Advantages
High Thread Count
Microfiber is a fabric material that is small in nature. The beauty of microfiber is that a lot of the material is used to create quality sheets. Most microfiber sheets contain a thread count of 800 threads per square inch and some can be composed of even higher thread counts at around 1800 threads per square inch. The thin composites of the microfiber allow the threads to be intricately woven to create a strong and durable, yet also thin, surface.
Stain Resistant
The makeup of microfiber with the small weaving of thread allows it to be much more stain resistant than other fabrics. The tightly woven material creates a shield against penetrating liquids and repels stains because liquids cannot breach the tight confines between the threads of material. This results in a highly durable and stain resistant fabric that needs little to no stain removal upon washing.
Affordable
Microfiber is made of wood and polyester fibers that are blended in a way that creates a soft and smooth surface texture. These materials are highly affordable so the microfiber itself is an affordable option for consumers. This unique fabric blend is used to create ultra-soft fabric that feels smooth and luxurious without the cost of other higher priced fabrics.
Disadvantages
Attracts Static
Microfiber easily attracts static and is a good conductor of static electricity. Therefore, it will easily attract lint and hair if not washed properly without the presence of other fabrics. This can also become a problem during the winter season when static electricity is more prevalent in some areas.
Shrinkage
It is common for microfiber to shrink during its first washing so many manufacturers plan on this and create pieces that are larger when first created. The tendency to shrink can become a problem if proper drying techniques are not used and the fabric can easily wrinkle if high heat is used during drying.
These are just some of the many advantages and disadvantages of microfiber fabric. Be sure to research the fabric well before making any fabric purchase. The advantages of microfiber greatly outweigh the disadvantages that some consumers may experience with the fabric.
]]>Quality
Microfiber is a material that is made using a blend of both natural and synthetic materials. Wood pulp and polyester are usually mixed to create soft quality sheets. These materials are intricately woven into small fibers that are combined together to form a high thread count. Microfiber sheets from The Bed Sheet Club feature an 1800 thread count per square inch which provides ultimate quality and softness.
This high thread count also helps to deter the sheets from wear and tear and results in a sheet that will last longer than sheets with lower thread counts. The combination of the small microfibers creates a web of fabric that increases in durability when woven together.
This weaving of hundreds of threads means that your microfiber sheets will not be as susceptible to tears from dry skin, toenails, or catches in fabrics.
All Season Use
Many people purchase multiple sheet sets for their bed that correlate to the different seasons: lighter sheets are used in the spring and summer while flannel sheets are used in the fall and winter. The cost of having multiple sets per bed can get quite expensive, especially if this is done for multiple beds within a household.
Microfiber sheets are the ultimate choice to use throughout the entire year as they react differently depending on the season.
During cold fall and winter nights, the tightly woven together fabric will help to trap body heat to keep you warm.
During hotter spring and summer nights, the ultra-smooth texture of the fabric will help to keep you from sticking to your sheets resulting in cooler sleeping conditions.
Moisture & Stain Resistant
The tight weaving of threads in a microfiber sheet set offers incredible moisture and stain resistant capabilities. Spills, perspiration, or nighttime accidents will not penetrate the complicated weave of the fabric resulting in less stains and longer lasting quality.
The tight weave of the microfiber also helps to keep skin dry so sleepers are less likely to sweat during the night.
Time Saver
Microfiber sheets are easy to clean as they won’t require pretreatment for stains or blemishes in the fabric itself. This will lead to quicker washing and less time spent doing laundry.
Microfiber also dries three times quicker than cotton sheets resulting in less drying time, and less energy used, which saves consumers money as well. This makes microfiber a great choice for households with many beds as doing laundry won’t take as much time to complete and your bedding can be done quickly and efficiently.
Affordability
Sheet sets can be extremely expensive and different materials offer different price points. The microfiber sheet sets from The Bed Sheet Club are an incredible value with twin to king sized sets being offered for just $39.95. These sets include both the fitted and flat microfiber sheet plus two pillow cases that match your bedding size. This price allows consumers to purchase a quality sheet set for every bed in their household at just a fraction of the price of other fabric options.
Microfiber sheet sets from The Bed Sheet Club offer the highest quality and value for consumers. Purchasing a brand new sheet set for under $40.00 is a practical, and durable, choice for anyone looking to replace older sheets. Order a few sets for multiple beds in your home to add ultimate softness and comfort in providing a great night of sleep.

If you’ve been looking for new bed sheets, there might be a term that has stuck out recently. At first, you might think you’re reading Egyptian cotton, but it couldn’t be since the price is much, much lower.
No, it’s more likely you’re looking at Egyptian comfort sheets. But what does that mean, exactly, and how is it different from Egyptian cotton?
Here, we’re going to look at the truth behind the name, and why Egyptian comfort sheets are fast becoming a favorite in the bedroom.
What is Egyptian cotton and what is Egyptian comfort?
Egyptian cotton is a famous term when it comes to bedding, signifying the cream of the crop when it comes to cotton sheets. They’re called “Egyptian” because the cotton is grown along the Nile, where the ground is particularly fertile.
This results in cotton that can double the length of other cotton fibers. Because it’s longer, it can be spun into finer yarns that don’t have as many rough endings that lend other kinds of cotton their coarseness.
While there are very few disadvantages to Egyptian cotton, they are some of the most expensive kinds of bedding around.
Despite the name, Egyptian comfort isn’t actually made from Egyptian cotton. It’s a highly-advanced fabric made of polymers that was created to rival, or even surpass, the famous breed of cotton.
Originally created by Walmart, Egyptian comfort is sold by a variety of bedding providers now and is fast becoming a popular alternative to cotton due to the price and a few distinct advantages.
Softer than Egyptian cotton
When describing the comfort factor and the softness of a bed sheet, the fineness of the thread matters. Most often because it dictates the all-important thread count of the bedding. The higher a thread count, the softer and more comfortable the sheet is likely to be.
Egyptian cotton is usually found within the range of a 200 to 400 thread count in its most affordable varieties but can reach up as high as a 1000 thread count.
Because the fibers are much finer in Egyptian comfort, however, you can get up to thread counts as remarkably high as 1800, which results in a much softer fabric.
Unlike Egyptian cotton, however, you won’t be breaking the bank for an 1800 thread count Egyptian comfort sheet. What’s more, Egyptian comfort is well known for having a smooth, almost silk-like softness to it, making it a much lighter fabric.
Stronger than cotton
Egyptian cotton is well known for being significantly stronger than other kinds of cotton, but Egyptian comfort is just as durable, and even longer-lasting. One of the major reasons is the actual thickness of the fibers. Egyptian comfort is made of fibers no larger than 1 denier, whereas cotton usually has a thickness of about 1.5 denier. This might seem like a small difference, but it results in much tighter weave for Egyptian comfort.
Since individual fabrics aren’t very strong, the tighter that weave, the stronger the fabric. So, Egyptian comfort tends to be a lot more resilient fabric, meaning it’s a lot less likely to suffer pilling or tearing even after years of washing and use.
This also means that Egyptian comfort lasts a lot longer than cotton, so you won’t have to replace them as often.
The aesthetic appeal
With such a low denier and a high thread count, the science supports the high quality of Egyptian comfort, but even to the naked eye, it’s easy to tell that these sheets are luxury.
As mentioned, they never pill like cotton does, meaning you’re going to have those little unsightly balls of fabric poking out from the sheets.
As it’s stronger than Egyptian cotton, Egyptian comfort sheets are also wrinkle resistant, so once you make your bed, it looks like you’ve just fitted fresh sheets that have been newly dried.
What’s more, thanks to that low denier, the sheets are highly moisture resistant. Beyond meaning that you’re a lot less likely to be sweating under the sheets, it also means that they’re stain resistant.
If you spill something on your Egyptian comfort sheets, it won’t soak through to the duvet beneath, nor will it ruin the sheets themselves.
They are remarkably easy to clean and, what’s more, they dry three times as quickly as cotton, so you don’t have to worry about fussing over them all the time.
More comfortable than Egyptian cotton
We’ve already stated how Egyptian comfort is softer than all varieties of cotton, but what about comfort? Just because a fabric is soft doesn’t mean it’s comfortable, however. Besides Egyptian cotton, all other varieties are well known for their coarseness.
Egyptian comfort has a smoothness that’s more comparable to silk. What’s more, it’s just as breathable as high-quality cotton. So, not only is it a good insulator in the cold, helping you warm up.
It’s also great for keeping you cool on a hot summer night. This is especially true thanks to the fact that it’s a much lighter and flexible fabric than cotton.
What’s more, thanks to the tightness of the fabric, it’s also allergen resistant. Even cotton as fine as Egyptian cotton is prone to catching dust and pollen and trapping it amongst the threads. That’s not true of Egyptian cotton.
So, if you’re chemically sensitive, have easily-irritated sinuses, or you have dust or pollen allergies, Egyptian comfort could be the solution you have been looking for all this time.
Less expensive than Egyptian cotton
Perhaps more of a deciding factor than all the other factors put together, Egyptian comfort is nowhere near as expensive as its cotton counterpart. In fact, a high-quality Egyptian cotton sheet with a 1000 thread count can cost as much as ten times as much as an 1800 thread count Egyptian comfort sheet. Because it’s a lot easier to produce than the cotton that has to be grown specifically, Egyptian comfort will always be the cheaper option.
With all the advantages of Egyptian cotton, as well as some areas where it even performs better, while still maintaining a lower price there’s no doubt that Egyptian comfort has earned the name. Try them out the next time you’re looking for bed sheets and you’ll be surprised by just how luxury they feel but little they cost.

]]>There are few things as important to a good night’s sleep as a good set of sheets. Even if the mattress is just right, if your sheets are uncomfortable, too rigid, or itchy, it can keep you up all night. So, finding the perfect sheets is a big deal. As of late, microfiber has become much more popular for bedding, but as with all new introductions, there are some detractors.
In particular, there are some who will say that cotton’s better because it’s “natural”. But is natural always the best? It’s time to look at the truth of the matter.
What is microfiber?
As the name would suggest, microfiber is a material woven of particularly fine material, measuring between 0.5 and 1 deniers of thickness. Microfiber is made using natural materials like wood pulp, but it most commonly uses synthetic materials like polyester.
Microfiber is well known for its strength and durability.
Natural isn’t always better
The biggest advantage that cotton has over microfiber, from the perspective of the average household owner, is that cotton is a natural material, and microfiber is often made using synthetic materials (even though it can be made with natural ones, too).
However, is natural always the best option? How much does it really matter?
Microfibers are very tightly wound, so the sheets are much better at repelling allergens and pollutants, unlike natural fabrics such as cotton which can trap them.
So, if you have sensitive sinuses, hay fever, or dust allergies, microfiber sheets might be the only truly comfortable choice for you.
Finer than most natural fabrics
All fabric bedding and sheets are measured by their thread count, which is how many threads of a particular fabric are woven together for a single piece of fabric.
You want a higher thread count, with a count of at least 300. This is the sign of a truly high-quality sheet, meaning that it’s much more comfortable and softer to the touch. But thread count is not everything.
Thread count can vary in all fabrics, including microfiber. However, the difference is that it’s a lot easier to achieve a higher thread count with microfiber because it’s not as hard to produce as it can be with natural fabric materials.
What’s more, microfiber tends to be a lot finer than natural fabric. The thickness of a material is described by its denier. All microfiber has to measure at under 1 denier. Compared that to high-quality silk, which measures at 1.25 deniers and the difference is clear.
Microfibers simply don’t exist in nature, so the only fabric with that kind of quality on the market is synthetic.
Good no matter what the weather
Most fabrics have strengths and weaknesses that make them a good fit for different seasons, usually depending on the temperature in your bedroom.
Microfiber might be one of the few materials that rival cotton in being able to keep you comfortable no matter how hot or cool it is, however.
For one, because the threads are so thin and so tightly woven together, microfiber is unrivaled when it comes to insulation. So, on a cold night, there are few fabrics that react to and trap your body heat, helping you keep warm and cozy when you’re all wrapped up.
That’s not to say that they work any less in hot weather. Microfiber might not be as breathable as cotton, but higher quality varieties will work perfectly fine.
Even better, microfiber has the same kind of smooth and slippery feel that satin does, which means it won’t stick to your skin when it’s hot.
The material is so lightweight and flexible that when paired with a thinner duvet, it can be very well suited to a summer night.
Is microfiber susceptible to pilling?
You may have seen it if you’ve owned low-quality sheets before. Pills, also known as bobbles, are the little balls of fibers that appear when the fabric slips out of the weave, causing it to rise up and stick out from the surface.
There are few things more unsightly on a nice clean sheet than lots of pilling.
In most cases, pilling is a result of low thread count. As mentioned, it’s a lot easier to get a microfiber with a higher thread count since they don’t cost as much as some other natural bedding materials do.
Better at keeping out humidity and moisture
You may already be familiar with microfiber for some of its other uses. This includes cloths and washing gloves for a wide variety of things, from baths and sinks to dishes and even cars.
But can a material that’s so good at scrubbing things clean really be comfortable?
The answer is a resounding yes, and it’s actually because of a particular quality that microfiber is so good at both. Due to its very tight weave of very thin fibers, there are few things as good as repelling moisture as microfiber.
First of all, this makes them a lot easier to wash. If you ever spill something on a microfiber sheet, you don’t have to worry about it leaking through, or leaving a troublesome stain on the sheet. But the same moisture repelling quality works for you, as well.
Microfiber is great for keeping your skin dry on humid nights, so you’re not going to be sweating up a storm under the sheets.
The practical choice
So, microfiber is easier to wash, less likely to stain, and dries three times quicker than cotton sheets. That’s a significant practical advantage for anyone running a busy household who doesn’t want to spend more time fussing over their bedding.
But there’s another practical advantage microfiber has, too: durability.
Microfiber is made from lots of little microscopic fibers, as the name would suggest. These fibers have no strength on their own, but when they’re combined together so tightly, they are exponentially stronger than natural materials with threads of fewer fibers.
High-quality microfiber is very resistant to tears, the higher the thread count, the more durable it is. With cotton, it’s not so simple. Most cotton sheets, even with high thread counts, tend to tear easily.
You need particularly strong brands of cotton, which are much more expensive, to get durability on a comparable level to microfiber. This means that cotton sheets can peel and become much less comfortable with every wash, whereas microfiber is more likely to stay strong.
“But is it breathable?”
This is one of the biggest detractions of microfiber sheets and it’s not necessarily an invalid point. The breathability of your sheets is hugely important. You don’t want sheets that are too cloying and keeping you too hot.
In general, microfiber fabric is tightly woven, one of the features that prevent water from seeping through.
In sheets with lower thread counts, this can mean that microfiber can be less breathable than you would like. However, higher quality microfiber sheets don’t suffer from that problem as much.
Even high-quality microfiber sheets can be reasonably priced, so you don’t have to pay much more for the extra comfort.
There you have it, a closer look at microfiber and why it can be the superior choice when it comes to your bedding. Just make sure that you’re getting high-quality microfiber sheets with higher thread counts so you know you’re getting everything cotton can offer and more.
]]>Trying to decide what color to get your new sheet set in can be difficult. There are so many great color choices and it is hard to pick just one! Follow these following considerations on how to choose the right color for your new affordable sheets from The Bed Sheet Club
Consider Your Style
What color do you gravitate to first? If you aren’t quite sure, look at your wardrobe for the color that you normally purchase and wear. If your closet is filled with neutrals like tan, grey, and black then you may want to choose a bed sheet color that will compliment what you already love.
If your closet is bright and cheery with lots of yellows, reds, and pinks then a brighter sheet color may be for you. Don’t try to make yourself purchase a color that you don’t instantly love as you will be reminded of it whenever you get into bed.
Consider Your Theme
If your bedroom currently doesn’t have a theme then you can easily choose any color available. However, if your room is already color coordinated with hues of a few different colors it is best to choose a color that will compliment what is already in the room.
You don’t necessarily need to match the color of your room but instead choose something that will not automatically clash. If your room is very colorful with reds, purples, or yellows than consider purchasing a neutral sheet color like white or tan to compliment the theme.
If your bedroom is already neutral with blues, whites, tans, or grays, you can choose a brighter sheet set to offset the quieter colors in your room. For example, a bedroom with grey walls and black accents would easily be complimented with yellow sheets to brighten up the space.
Consider the Color Wheel
There are two different families of colors: warm and cool. Warm colors are the brighter colors like red, yellow, and green. Cooler colors are blue, white, tan, and grey.
If you already have a headboard that is a certain color consider looking at a color wheel to see the color that would directly compliment it.
Simply find the color that already exists in your bedroom and draw a line through the color wheel to the other side.
This will be the color that will best compliment that particular shade.
Try this tool if you need help creating a color scheme!
Consider Color Specifics
Some of our quality sheet colors have special considerations that need attention depending on their hue. If you choose a darker color like black or navy blue, but if you tend to drool or sweat a lot while sleeping, the stains will easily show up on your pillowcase.
Most children’s bedrooms should stay away from darker sheet colors for this reason. Although our soft sheets are stain resistant, white would be another sheet color that would have a tendency to show dirt marks or color bleeding from new pajamas.
Think about the type of person who will be sleeping in the bed to choose the best color for their sleeping habits.
Consider Your Goal
Sleep is a time when the day winds down and your body needs ultimate rest. Choosing a soothing color, like blue or grey, can help stimulate your brain that it is time to settle down for the night.
Both of these hues are proven to calm the brain and encourage your body to slow down. If your bedroom is your oasis from a busy world, choosing a color like blue can subconsciously do wonders in being that first hint to your brain that bedtime is near.
There are so many different colors to choose from The Bed Sheet Club and knowing what colors you already gravitate towards can help in making your color choice.
If you still need help in choosing the right sheet color, give our sales staff a call and we can help you along the way!
Whatever color you choose, know that you will be getting quality and affordable sheets that provide the ultimate in luxury for a restful night of sleep.
